II. History: Characteristics: Limited to those things that will probably
not change.
Land Area: (square miles approximately)
Population: (approximately) HISTORY: Chester Boro is a quaint charming town which has developed into a popular antique and craft shopping area. Surrounded still by a rural community of farms, estates and homes set amidst beautiful woods, streams and fields it has become an attractive weekend destination. Originally a farming and mining area for iron ore, the town now has continued well planned development as a suburban and primarily residential area. The original stage coach stop is now a flourishing restaurant and inn, and the old gristmill is now open to the public.
CHARACTERISTICS: This town is small in area and quite densely populated with older historical homes of varying size, and some newer construction.
Chester Township and Chester Boro share churches, fire departments, schools, recreation facilities and clubs, thereby offering residents many advantages of suburban living.
LAND AREA: 1.6 square miles approximately
POPULATION: 2100 (approximately)
