Member Services

Low Cost Local Dues
NCJAR is committed to providing the best possible member services at the lowest possible cost.  We strive to keep our expenses down with careful budgeting while meeting and exceeding all of the service requirements for local associations as per our National Association rules.  Our dues have remained one of the lowest in the state.

Continuing Education
The Association conducts education offerings on a monthly basis relating to real estate licensing, Code of Ethics, Fair Housing, Multiple Listing services, agency relationships, antitrust, contract law; and all of the NAR designation programs, in addition to CRS, GRI, and WCR courses. Courses may run from two to four hours each depending on the subject. Computer related course covering word processing, Excel, Palm Pilot, website development, email, Internet usage, Top Producer, and more are offered in our fully equipped computer labs located at each of our association locations. Each course runs approximately two hours. Some courses are offered as full day. An appropriate trainer for the subject material conducts each course. All courses are essential for our members to keep them abreast of the latest issues affecting the real estate industry on a continuing education basis.

In-House Print Shop
Located on the lower level of the building is North Central Jersey Printing, which offers our members professional printing at competitive rates and member discounts.  No job is too big or too small.  Call 973-425-9100.

Vendor Alliances
Because we are 7,300 members strong, we can offer program alliances with vendors in a number of areas i.e.: computers, group health insurance, telephones and more.

Technology Training
Our Technology committee offers a full range of courses from basic Windows to web design and more. Fully equipped state-of-the-art computer labs are located at each of our board locations. Schedule of classes and registration forms are available through this link.

Professional Standards & Code of Ethics Enforcement
We are the resource for members to air their grievances, and to hold the appropriate hearings for an arbitration dispute or an ethics violation. Members can process complaints with the association and the proper tribunal will hold hearings accordingly. This is an invaluable resource for the member to help them resolve disputes out of court, The association maintains a grievance committee and a professional standards committee for the purpose of reviewing complaints and conducting hearings. Complaints take three to four months from filing to resolution. All hearings are held at the association offices.

NCJAR Bi-Weekly Newsletter
A detailed newsletter of real estate related issues, helpful technology guides, and important information about association services, and education offerings is e-mailed to each member of the association. This publication is essential to our members in keeping them up-to-date on all events taking place locally and on a state and national basis. All members are asked to provide their e-mail address when joining.

Other Publications
We provide local publications including county maps (counties of Morris, Essex, Union, Somerset, Hunterdon), area brochures and school information as an additional service to our members. Monthly publications from the state and national associations are sent directly to the member. These publications are invaluable in helping the member service their clients. In addition, there is a full profile for each of the towns serviced by the association's members on our website.

E-Mail
All of our member offices and each individual member is/are on our e-mail service - it is the most effective way of communicating with our members. It helps us keep costs down, thereby keeping our dues at one of the lowest in the state!

NAR, NJAR & GSMLS Representation
Our membership of 7,300 strong gives us a major voice on the State and National levels.  Our Board is represented by seven votes at our state level, the largest number of votes of any Board, and three on the National level.   On the National level, we are part of the “large Board Vision 2000” alliance.  In addition, many of our members and Trustees are members of several state and national Committees as well as the state Executive Committee.  We are very proud of the representation we have for our members.

The Association provides local assistance in helping each member register for the multiple listing services and to assign electronic keycards and lockboxes. Registration with the multiple listing service is essential to members' business. This is the vehicle of cooperation amongst brokers. The electronic keycard and lockboxes are used for properties listed for sale, and provides access to the listed property via the members' registration with the service. Our Association maintains a vote on the GSMLS Advisory Board

Social Events
The Association serves as a vehicle for the members to get together and socialize on a quarterly basis. These events are a great avenue for the members to meet with each other and discuss the issues that are affecting them, as well as to take some time away from the office. Events are usually conducted off-site.
